My Little 3 month old Chubster

in Rhys

It’s been 3 months since I couldn’t tie my own shoes I had Rhys.  Doesn’t time fly?  In another 3 he’ll be sitting up and giving us hearty belly laughs.
Rhys is in the 90% for height and weight and I am loving every minute of his delicious chubby-ness.  Most especially when it’s hanging out over his diaper, giving him the cutest little muffin-top you ever did see…

A WMU Alum, Bianca meets Rhys for the 1st time last week.

A Christmas gift from my Ma to Rhys…

I'm rolly but cute!

The 3 month update:

-He gives everyone big smiles, but reserves chuckles and giggles for his big brother.

-He has an overall easy going demeanor but when he’s cold, hot, hungry, tired or annoyed –you will hear about it.

-We’ve recently stopped binding him up for naps and nighttime and it appears he is going to be a thumb sucker very soon.

-Together, Rhys & I are failing miserably at keeping a decent schedule.  He’s going long stretches during the day without eating (or very little) & wanting to snack all night.  He’s not even close to giving me the 10 continuous hours of night-time sleep without eating that his big brother had achieved by 12 weeks, but I’ve been hestitant to be more strict with the Babywise sleep system until his gas issues resolved…and then after Urbana was over…and then after he was over his cold…and now finally after some work last night he slept his first 5 hr. stretch.

-He goes to bed late (around 10pm or so) and then sleeps in until 9:30am or so.  This schedule is not ideal for me trying to be up earlier and be productive in the morning! (By the way, thanks to some of your suggestions, support, prayer and probiotics, he’s been doing so much better with his gas issues.  Occasionally they’ll pop up, but not every single day and night like before).

-He’s got great head control, doesn’t mind tummy time & likes his alone time in his bouncer, or crib or car seat.  In fact, his car seat is his fave place to sleep.

-He loves breastfeeding, as do I.  He’s got a great latch making it easier to love when I’m not wincing in awful pain like I felt with Ransom for the first four months!

He’s so so so precious and beautiful and wonderful and I am just so in love.

Hurrah for cute chubby lovable babies! :)

Um, Ma, I'm not to sure about this thing!

thanks for updating on the sleep situation. you are lucky that you have him going from 10 PM-9:30 AM. Jesse goes to bed at 7 PM so even though he sleep a good stretch, he always wakes up in the middle of the night, right after I go to sleep. However, I think he’s getting better at putting himself back to sleep at that time.

i bet Rhys weighs as much as Jesse. My poor skinny kid. Rhys is adorable!!

i just read that he’s snacking all night, so i take back the lucky part. i think Rhys and Jesse are the same or maybe Ransom and Emma were too easy.

Grace, thanks for the blog that made me smile. It was a nice antidote to the Polity exam that I’m pretty sure I bombed. Makes me want one…but I need a husband first!
