If your husband/boyfriend/boo-bear likes football, but you, um don’t…

…and truth be told, still don’t even really understand how the game is played… or what the big deal is… or why it’s even fun to have other 300 pound people pile all over you, then here’s the golden ticket…

nfl_image_50713Apparently, today is the 1st day of the NFL season.  If your husband slash boyfriend slash boo-bear just LOVES him some football and he knows that you could care less, you can SUPRISE HIM in a big way by doing a few things…

1.  Have football-ish food for dinner tonight: wings, beer, chips, anything fried, etc.  Nothing fresh.  No watermelon or grapes to be seen.

2.  Tell your main man, he’s free to take the food & go park it in front of the boob-tube.  Give him the night to enjoy the game without you and all your ga-zillion questions.

3. Tell him you just want to celebrate that it’s such a “special day,” & he deserves a little time to throw himself into the season with fervor.

Lastly, tell him it would be nice to have the same treatment when the Oscars red-carpet pre-show is beginning. :)

Okay, so here’s the truth for our little family.

First of all, we don’t have a TV so Dave can’t watch at home, on top of that I have to work tonight so he’s taking care of our kiddo’s from 6pm on.

But, I AM going to make him a lovely unhealthy football-ish dinner, let him eat on the special red plate (the one reserved for the family member being celebrated for the night) & surprise with my knowledge of the NFL season starting tonight.  He’s gonna love it.

p.s.  It’s a secret, so don’t tell him.  (Obviously, he’s not a big gabbingwithgrace.com fan)! :)

Let’s “celebrate!”

If you have a computer you can watch it online I believe… I don’t own a TV either… best thing I did since sliced bread

Fred is at a meeting tonight & gave me orders to be sure & record the game. The best thing about that way is you can fast forward all of the commercials! I watch parts of the games–usually the last quarter because that way I know how the game ends.

Around here, that would look something like an alarm going off at two in the morning with whatever junk food I was awake enough to pour out of a bag while he goes to the computer to watch his beloved football.

Because he’s not into “gridiron” as he calls it, but is a die hard Aussie rules fan, but their season is winding down. Should be finals soon, I think, but he hasn’t talked much about it so I’m not sure exactly.
